Carlo's Cookies and Cream

During the month of September we will be featuring a special cupcake in remembrance of Carlo Blangiardo. Carlo, a young Long Island man passed away from Pancreatic Cancer leaving behind his pregnant wife, JoAnna and young daughter Alessandra. The family was devastated but found comfort and counseling from the non-profit organization called CancerCare. The organization offers free counseling and aid to children and families affected by cancer throughout the nation and are very active on Long Island with a main office in Woodbury. 

For the past 7 years CancerCare has been sponsoring a program called Cupcakes for a Cause to raise funds for the organization. Reinwald’s Bakery has participated for the last 2 years but this year is very special. We are remembering Carlo by designing his dream cupcake! After meeting with the Blangiardo’s we have created  Carlo’s Cookie’s & Cream. A moist vanilla cupcake with cookie pieces mixed into the batter sets the foundation for our cookie filled butter cream and is then coated in cookie pieces - All of carlos favorite flavors. The finishing touch is a sugar soccer ball to represent his favorite sport.

During the month of September Reinwald’s will be donating 20% of all cupcake sales to CancerCare. For every Carlo’s Cupcake sold we will be donating 30% to CancerCare. We hope you enjoy the cupcakes knowing that they are helping out such a great cause.
